朝鲜蓟是菜蓟属植物朝鲜蓟Cynara scolymus L的茎叶提取物。朝鲜蓟为多年生大型草本,叶羽状深裂。茎顶有头状花,总苞片卵形。朝鲜蓟总苞片呈覆瓦状排列,朝鲜蓟在开花前收获头状花。朝鲜蓟的肉质总苞片和花托常作食用。在欧洲,朝鲜蓟是一直用作治疗消化不良的草药。朝鲜蓟提取物用于治疗包括腹痛、腹胀、恶心等消化道疾病。现代研究表明朝鲜蓟可能具有杀菌、抗氧化、抑制胆固醇和LDL的氧化等作用(1-5).

治疗消化不良
在欧洲,朝鲜蓟是一直用作治疗消化不良的草药。朝鲜蓟提取物用于治疗包括腹痛、腹胀、恶心等消化道疾病,其机理可能是促进胆汁的分泌(6,7)。
降血脂及抗动脉粥样硬化
许多试验表明,朝鲜蓟提取物可以降低血脂,主要是通过影响胆固醇及脂类在肝脏中的合成分解途径来调节脂质水平,从而预防动脉粥样硬化的发生(6,7)。
保肝及抗氧化功能
1 g 干燥的朝鲜蓟提取物对DPPH 和FRAP 的EC50 值分别与29.2 mg 和62.6 mg VC, 及77.9 mg和159 mg VE 相当,且具有较好的抗低密度脂蛋白氧化的作用(8)。
体外大鼠肝细胞的抗氧化试验结果表明,0.001 mg/ml 的水相提取物即可降低MDA 的含量,同时没有影响肝细胞中谷光甘肽(GSH) 水平,相反减少了GSH 的损失和GSSG 的流失。表明朝鲜蓟提取物具有很强的抗氧化作用,因而推断提取物的抗氧化作用是其具有保肝和促进肝再生作用的主要原因(9)。
抗微生物作用
朝鲜蓟中绿原酸、洋蓟酸、木樨草素- 7- 芸香糖苷以及菜蓟糖苷的抗微生物活性相对较高,抗真菌活性比抗细菌活性强(10)。
